We always thought it was weird that Molson's Calgary beer was still brewed, but only sold in Saskatchewan. It was very shocking to see it for the first time one day while visiting Regina. As a non-Calgary native I didn't know this as a Calgary staple, but those of you who have been missing it - it's back. Now brewed in Molson's Vancouver plant, Calgary beer has been brought back as a promotion but could return again for the century of Stampede this year.
Some History from Canadian Beer News: "Originally brewed by Calgary Brewing & Malting before that company was taken over by Carling-O’Keefe, the brand was withdrawn from its home market in the mid-1980s, but remained available in Saskatchewan. New parent company Molson brought it back to Calgary for two limited runs, the most recent in 1992, but it has not been seen there since."
