Bushwakker 20th Anniversary Beer Release

Reported earlier on Prairiebeerblogger, Bushwakker ran a contest to name its 20th Anniversary beer. The Russion Imperial Stout, The Tartan Tzar, was infused in 12 year single malt scotch whisky. "Big chocolate, coffee and molasses flavours explode on the palate." Be quick, though; released this Saturday, January 22 at 11 am there were only 168 bottles made.

2 per person - I know I'm working on relatives to stand in line for my 2 bottles.

New TAPS hits the Prairies

It always takes a little longer to get out here, but the newest TAPS - Canada's Beer Magazine is out in the west. Filled with great articles and news about beer in Canada and around the world, it is Canada's premier beer magazine. Pick one up - you'll start subscribing. There's a couple of articles I really like - one about Half Pints brewery in Winnipeg and one on the Home brew Beer Clubs of the west. That James Burla is a good writer!

Bushwakker Seasonal - Classic Vienna

On tap at Bushwakker in Regina is their seasonal Classic Vienna. This is a great beer style that is often over looked in Canada and Bushwakker makes a great one. With tastes of toasty malts, nuttiness and slight sweetness it is hands down a great stylistic Vienna.
