Mail Strikes Hurts Beer Readers

It's better now, but that darned mail strike really set back the distribution of TAPS - The Beer Magazine. This is Canada's premier beer magazine and if yo haven't ever picked one up you really need. It's a window into the beer industry from coast to coast and around the world. This summer's issue is currently available at Chapters and places like Wild Rose's Taproom.

From the prairie side, there's a GREAT article highlighting Fort Garry of Winnipeg. Seriously check this out. The subscriptions are a good price, it's quarterly and you can even get a serious deal digitally through zinio on your iphone.

Wild Rose Seasonal Out

Dave and the gang at Wild Rose have launched their seasonal - a kolsch. The press release writes it as having a "delicate fruitiness and a prominent, but not extreme hoppiness. Bright straw-yellow in colour, Kolsch are often mistaken for lagers. In fact, this beer style is an ale which is top fermented at a relatively warm temperature and then lagered, or aged, at a cooler temperature for about eight weeks."

You can find this at the WR taproom and some taps around Calgary.
